Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a Controller to become the financial backbone of the organization, designing systems, driving forecasting, and delivering executive-level insights. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA/CMA a plus.
• 10+ years in progressive accounting/finance including controller or senior role.
• Experience in a startup or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient with accounting software (NetSuite or similar).
• Strong GAAP, financial reporting, ASC 606 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the in-house transition of accounting functions (monthly close, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition & cost accounting systems design)
• Build and oversee financial infrastructure, reporting frameworks, and internal controls
• Partner with leadership on business planning, capital strategy, and decision-making
• Provide timely financial reporting to executives, board, and investors
• Establish company-wide financial controls promoting discipline and ROI-driven decisions
• Lead cost-aware culture and ROI-driven decision-making across the company
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team as the company scales
• Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to enable growth and efficiency
• Support external audits, tax filings, and investor reporting
