Job summary

Heave, a fast-growing marketplace connecting contractors with independent field technicians nationwide, is seeking an accomplished Financial Controller to lead the finance function. Reporting to the CEO, you will own financial control, reporting, planning and cash management to provide a trusted view of the numbers.

This role combines rigorous financial discipline with commercial insight, building scalable finance processes and systems to support growth over years to come.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant, CPA or equivalent US qualification.
• 8+ years experience in a Financial Controller or comparable role.
• Proven ownership of financial reporting, controls, budgeting and cash flow.
• Strong knowledge of US accounting requirements, statutory reporting, audit and tax compliance.
• Commercially astute with ability to connect results to operational drivers.
• Experience in scaling, data quality improvements and cross-functional collaboration.
• Comfortable advising a CEO with senior leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrity and timely delivery of financial results with a single revenue definition.
• Lead month-end/year-end close, statutory reporting, audit, tax compliance, and balance sheet control.
• Translate financial data into clear insight for the CEO and drive action.
• Build scalable finance processes, systems, and reporting to support growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, Operations and leadership to embed financial ownership.
