Job summary

The D. E. Shaw group is seeking a Financial Analyst to join its Financial Analysis & Reporting (FA&R) team within Financial Operations in New York.

You will develop financial models for budgeting and forecasting, produce regular and ad hoc reports for leadership, and build standardized analytics tools to drive strategic decision making. You will work closely with executive leadership, improve reporting frameworks, and address business questions with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in financial analysis or data analytics.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or related discipline.
• Proficient in financial modeling and data analysis; familiarity with automation tools preferred.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for FinOp and firm leadership, highlighting trends, variances, and key business drivers.
• Analyze financial, operational, and business data to generate insights and support decision-making.
• Build and standardize reporting frameworks, dashboards, and analytics tools.
• Partner with colleagues across FinOp to address business questions and contribute to capability-building initiatives.
