Job summary

Barnowl Advisory Group is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Administration to lead financial and administrative teams and drive strong financial management. The role covers GAAP-compliant reporting, strategic planning, audits, and multi-entity accounting across real estate and related entities.

Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, 10+ years in accounting/finance with at least 5 in leadership, and strong ERP/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience; 5+ years in leadership.
• Experience with full accounting cycle, month-end close, GAAP compliance.
• Experience managing audits, tax processes, and banking relationships.
• Experience multi-entity accounting, manufacturing and real estate.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Proven people-management and strong communication skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide regular reporting.
• Provide guidance on strategic and long-range financial planning.
• Oversee AR/AP, general ledger, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Direct monthly/quarterly/year-end close and prepare GAAP statements.
• Review reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules for GL integrity.
• Manage annual audit/review with external auditors and lenders.
• Establish internal controls to safeguard assets and reporting accuracy.
• Create and manage fiscal policies and accounting procedures.
• Guide leadership on financial best practices and cash flow management.
• Develop financial models, budgets, and forecasts; identify cost savings.
• Oversee accounting for family real estate entities and consolidate with company.
• Stay current on industry trends and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee HR and Administration functions, payroll, benefits, onboarding, safety.
• Maintain vendor relationships and good credit standing.
• Mentor accounting/finance team; hiring and performance management.
• Serve as internal advisor on financial matters across entities.
• Must be able to production costing.
