Job summary

Confidential is seeking a finance and administration leader to own accounting operations, financial strategy, and back-office functions. This high-visibility role partners closely with ownership and the senior leadership team on decisions shaping the company's direction.

The role encompasses month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audits, and HR/administrative operations across multiple entities. A seasoned, hands-on leader with strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; CPA or CMA a plus.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; 5+ in leadership at Controller/Senior Accounting Manager level.
• Experience running full accounting cycle including month-end close and GAAP reporting.
• Hands-on with external audits, tax processes, and banking relationships.
• Comfort working across multiple entities or business lines.
• Strong ERP and advanced Excel skills.
• Proven track record building and leading a finance team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on leadership style with proactive decision-making.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regular financial performance updates to ownership and leadership.
• Advise on long-term financial strategy and planning.
• Own accounting operations including AR, AP, GL, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with GAAP-compliant statements.
• Review reconciliations and entries to maintain a clean general ledger.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners through audits.
• Maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure accurate reporting.
• Write and update fiscal policies and documented accounting practices.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships; coach leadership on financial practices.
• Develop forecasts and financial models to project results and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations for compliance.
• Oversee HR and administrative operations including payroll, benefits, onboarding, and safety.
• Maintain vendor and credit relationships.
• Hire, train, and lead the accounting and finance team; guide day-to-day work.
• Serve as trusted financial advisor to ownership and executives.
