Job summary

LANXESS is seeking a senior field sales/marketing professional to expand usage of the product portfolio and win new accounts in the Pittsburgh area. You will travel frequently, visit customers, and document interactions in CRM while negotiating terms and delivering technical insights.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S. in Engineering or Business or equivalent sales experience, with 5–10 years in field sales for chemicals in industrial sectors.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or Business or equivalent sales experience.
• 5-10 years experience in field sales and/or marketing of raw materials in relevant sectors.
• Strong communication and active listening skills.
• Ability to work with others and bring people together.
• Persuasive and able to negotiate at all levels of an organization.
• Self-manage and operate independently with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales and profitability by broadening use of assigned product portfolio.
• Develop and implement lead generation strategies for new customer sales funnel.
• Forecast sales, reconcile variances and achieve turnover budget.
• Attend fairs, trade shows, and internal meetings; document visits using CRM.
• Willingness to travel 50-60% with overnight stays, domestically and occasionally internationally.
