Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Director of Facilities & Operations to lead all facilities and fleet operations across New Jersey, aligning the physical environment with program goals and regulatory requirements.

The role requires a proven people leader with the ability to translate long-range capital plans into disciplined day-to-day execution, managing budgets and vendor relationships while ensuring occupant safety and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 10+ years of facilities or property operations experience, including 5+ years leading managers across multiple sites.
• Proven capital and operating budget ownership and executive-level communication skills.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, building codes, CMMS/IWMS.
• NJ Driver's License with insurable record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the multi-region facilities strategy and capital planning.
• Own facility budgets, forecast variances, identify funding opportunities, and present recommendations to leadership.
• Recruit, develop, and hold accountable Regional Facilities Managers; set performance standards.
• Ensure portfolio compliance with building, life safety, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, KPIs, and reporting across regions.
• Oversee renovations, system replacements, and new-site build-outs from scope through closeout.
• Lead emergency preparedness, business continuity, and sustainability initiatives.
• Direct strategic sourcing, negotiate service contracts, and oversee vendor performance; approve invoices.
• Assist with IT coordination and hardware provisioning for facilities-related systems.
• Travel throughout NJ as required.
