Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is seeking a Category Specialist to drive fabrication sourcing across steel, aluminum, stainless steel, cutting, forming, welding, and coatings. You will lead supplier negotiations, manage agreements, and push cost-saving initiatives within Oshkosh AeroTech.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in strategic sourcing or category management in manufacturing, strong analytics, and ERP experience. Travel 10–20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three or more years of experience in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to travel 10-20%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for fabrication materials and processes.
• Lead sourcing and cost-reduction projects from planning through implementation.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships and negotiate agreements.
• Analyze spend, pricing, market trends, and total cost of ownership.
• Identify supplier capacity, quality, delivery, and continuity risks; collaborate on mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier performance teams.
• Research supplier markets and evaluate opportunities; support long-term category strategies.
• Support standardization of sourcing processes and supplier performance metrics.
