Job summary

The City of Philadelphia is seeking an External Labor Relations Advisor to serve as an advisor to the Mayor’s Office on organized labor issues outside City government. The role monitors labor activity across the region, builds relationships with labor unions, industry associations, employers, and stakeholders, and provides strategic analysis affecting municipal operations and economic stability.

You will work with the Director of Labor and coordinate across departments to assess impacts of labor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required; relevant work experience considered.
• Master's degree preferred in a related discipline.
• Experience in labor policy or public administration is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor actions across the region and assess impacts on City services.
• Develop relationships with labor unions, employers, and stakeholders.
• Provide regular labor intelligence briefings to executive leadership.
• Prepare executive summaries and strategic recommendations.
• Coordinate across departments to evaluate operational impacts of labor actions.
