Job summary

The University of Michigan is seeking an Event Coordinator for a term-limited appointment in Ann Arbor. This role supports Michigan Medicine Development, coordinating and executing a wide range of events—from donor stewardship to facility openings—across departments, with emphasis on high-profile VIP occasions and community engagement in Troy and Greater Oakland County.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 2+ years in event strategy, fundraising, or development events,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in event management or related field.
At least 2 years in event strategy and execution, fundraising, or development events.
Ability to lead in a team-driven environment and manage complex vendor relationships.
Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Experience negotiating contracts with vendors and managing event budgets.

Responsibilities

75% - Event coordination: plan logistics, manage guest lists, databases, invitations, signage, and on-site execution.
Plan and execute a diverse portfolio of Michigan Medicine events, including donor engagement and major facility openings in Troy and Oakland County.
15% - Financial and vendor management: negotiate contracts, track expenses, manage budgets and invoices.
10% - Strategic development and stakeholder engagement: collaborate with multiple teams to advance donor engagement and institutional initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
