Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks a Buyer to collaborate with assigned vendors and suppliers to obtain materials, purchased parts and supplies at the lowest cost while meeting quality and delivery requirements.

Daily responsibilities include using ERP software, evaluating suppliers, negotiating terms, planning orders, and maintaining accurate purchasing documentation to support production schedules.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 2–4 years procurement experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong work ethic, dependability and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Use ERP software daily to perform purchasing tasks.
• Evaluate suppliers for capacity, quality and on‑time delivery.
• Negotiate terms and purchase agreements for cost effectiveness.
• Plan and execute orders based on planning reports.
• Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to keep purchasing docs correct.
• Track open orders and ensure timely delivery per production needs.
• Coordinate returns and defective material processes.
• Assist in vendor performance metrics and special projects.
