Job summary

SageMFG is seeking a Buyer in the Procurement department to source, negotiate, and purchase materials and services essential to operations. You will collaborate with vendors, manage inventory, and ensure timely deliveries to support production and other departments.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and proven procurement experience, with strong negotiation, analytical, and ERP system skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or a similar role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain management and procurement processes.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.
• Negotiation skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors.
• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts and terms to secure advantageous agreements.
• Generate and manage purchase orders accurately.
• Monitor order statuses and ensure timely deliveries.
• Address discrepancies or issues related to orders.
• Conduct cost analysis to identify savings opportunities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Logistics, and QA to understand material needs.
• Forecast components and monitor inventory levels.
• Stay informed about market conditions and pricing.
• Collaborate with departments to adhere to budgets.
