Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Senior Project Procurement Manager to lead procurement for large capital projects, including new gas plants and renewables. You will shape contracting strategies, source suppliers, and manage complex EPC agreements from development through project closeout.

You will collaborate with legal, finance and engineering teams to optimize commercial risk, drive value, and ensure on-time delivery while safeguarding the company’s interests across major energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field + 8 years of relevant work experience.
• Associate's degree in related field + 9 years of relevant work experience.
• High School Diploma + 10 years of relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the project procurement strategy and contracting approach across large capital programs.
• Lead supplier negotiations, award and administration of EPC and major equipment contracts.
• Oversee contract management, change orders, and milestone/payments with EPC partners.
• Coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Legal, Finance and Risk teams to protect commercial interests.
• Drive SRM programs and leverage procurement technology for process efficiencies.
• Provide commercial leadership and issue resolution to support project execution.
• Support logistics optimization and demand management within the Supply Chain.
