American Electric Power seeks a Procurement Manager, Major Projects, to act as the primary procurement partner within major transmission capital projects. Embedded in the project team, you will lead procurement integration across materials, equipment, services, construction, supplier capacity and contracting to support delivery.

• Bachelor's degree + 8 years of relevant experience.
• Associate's degree + 10 years of relevant experience; or
• High School Diploma/GED + 12 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracting, supplier management, supply markets, manufacturing lead times, and delivery assurance.
• Experience supporting large capital, utility, energy, transmission, infrastructure, engineering projects.
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and executive communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary procurement liaison and single point of coordination for assigned major projects, partnering with Project Managers, Project Directors, and leadership.
• Develop, maintain, and drive the integrated project procurement plan aligned with milestones.
• Translate project schedules and objectives into coordinated procurement, sourcing, contracting, supplier, and material plans.
• Represent project material and capacity requirements within portfolio planning and prioritize into execution plans.
• Maintain procurement dashboards and risk registers with milestones, supplier capacity, material status, and executive reporting.
• Coordinate cross-functional execution across Transmission COE, Category Management, PPO, Sourcing, Contracts, Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Logistics, and stakeholders.
• Establish clear accountability, decision paths, and escalation processes for procurement issues and risks.
• Partner with Procurement teams to address supplier performance, capacity constraints, category strategies, and commercial considerations.
• Communicate procurement readiness, risks, mitigation plans, and critical decisions to project leadership.
• Leverage analytics, systems, and continuous improvement to enhance sourcing, contract visibility, supplier performance, and project outcomes.
