Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a strategic Project Procurement Management leader to drive procurement for large energy infrastructure projects, including natural gas power generation, renewables, and data-center support facilities.

The role oversees contracting, sourcing, and supplier strategies across development, engineering, construction, commissioning and closeout, partnering with EPCs, OEMs and engineering firms to secure favorable terms and manage risk throughout project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher with relevant experience in procurement and construction projects.
• Experience leading EPC, contracting and supplier management on large capital programs.
• MBA or purchasing certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project procurement strategies for major capital projects.
• Lead negotiation, award and administration of EPC/major contracts.
• Manage contract administration, change management and payments.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs and suppliers.
• Drive supplier performance and risk mitigation across programs.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Legal and Finance.
