Job summary

Tanium is seeking an Employment Counsel to join its legal team. The person will advise the People team and business stakeholders on U.S. employment law, help attract and retain talent, and manage legal risk in a fast-paced, global technology environment.

The role follows a hybrid schedule with in-office days at Reston, VA, and other U.S. locations as needed. A JD and state bar admission are required, with strong experience in employment matters and investigations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant employment law experience at a law firm or in-house.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited school and active U.S. state bar.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state employment laws and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice on a broad range of U.S. employment issues to People and business stakeholders.
• Oversee internal workplace investigations, including harassment or discrimination matters.
• Manage/respond to employment-related claims, demand letters, and audits.
• Handle pre-litigation and litigation matters with outside counsel as needed.
• Draft and negotiate employment documents and templates (offers, agreements, severance).
• Develop and update employment policies to comply with laws.
• Advise on AI tool usage in recruiting and employment practices, and support policy training.
