Job summary

The City of Seguin seeks a Manager of Electric Utility to lead the planning, administration, operation, and continuous improvement of the City’s electric utility system. This role provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to ensure safe, reliable delivery of electric services in support of City goals.

Key duties include load forecasting, power supply procurement, distribution system oversight, rate design input, and development of budgets and CIP/O&M planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in electric utility operations, with leadership experience.
• Experience with load forecasting, power supply planning, and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with utility software systems (SCADA, GIS, OMS).

Responsibilities

• Advise executive leadership on electric utility operations, planning, and regulatory matters.
• Provide leadership for planning, design, engineering, construction, and maintenance of distribution systems.
• Oversee budget development and multi-year forecasting for personnel and capital projects.
• Direct and coordinate Electric Utility staff through supervisors to ensure safe, reliable service.
• Represent department before City Council, boards, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations and industry standards.
