Job summary

City of Seguin seeks a seasoned Manager of Electric Utility to lead planning, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. You will provide strategic direction to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service while guiding long-term goals.

The role requires deep knowledge of electric utility operations, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, staffing, and regulatory compliance. Expect collaboration with executives, regulators, and contractors to advance multi-year initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in electric utility operations, including at least four (4) years in a supervisory or management role.
• State of Texas CDL Class A preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
• CPR certification within 18 months of employment and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for planning, operation, and maintenance of the City's electric utility.
• Oversee budgeting, including Operating & Maintenance and Capital Improvement Program with multi-year forecasting.
• Ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and reliability of electric services.
• Direct staffing, performance management, and organizational structure within the department.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders, regulators, and contractors to ensure project success and service continuity.
