Job summary

City of Seguin seeks an Operations Manager to lead daily operations of water wells, treatment facilities, storage, and transmission mains. You will direct work orders, asset and preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with regulatory bodies while managing budgets and staff.

Ideal candidates have strong supervisory experience, knowledge of water treatment systems, and a proven track record in safety and project management within a public utility setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a water-related field with 5+ years of supervisory experience.
• Experience managing water treatment facilities, wellfields, and transmission mains.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance with state and federal agencies.
• Experience with asset and maintenance management programs and budgeting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates operations of SSLGC including water wellfield, treatment, transportation and delivery of water.
• Evaluates water treatment processes and implements operational strategies to optimize power and chemical use.
• Maintains compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assists in budget preparation and forecasts expenditures; manages funds for operation and maintenance.
• Oversees SCADA, reporting, and data analysis for operational efficiency.
• Coordinates projects with contractors and utility partners; ensures timely completion and cost control.
• Ensures staff training and safety compliance; enforces policies and procedures.
• Interviews and supervises staff; manages records and inspections for regulatory compliance.
