Job summary

Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a Lead EHS Audit Consultant to join Corporate Audit Services. You will lead complex environmental, health and safety audits, build risk-based scope, and guide audit teams to improve performance and compliance.

Travel up to 35% and a hybrid work arrangement support development of risk management practices while delivering high-value assurance to the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Requires technical skills and advanced knowledge/experience in varied EHS fields (environmental, safety, etc.).
• Five or more years of related EHS work experience in addition to the required degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead large, complex EHS audits and manage audit staff.
• Evaluate design/effectiveness of programs against EHS requirements.
• Conduct interviews/site observations and analyze data to form conclusions.
• Develop risk-based audit scope and test plans, monitor action plans and follow up.
• Communicate audit risks clearly to stakeholders and build relationships with customers.
