Grant Wood Area Education Agency in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, seeks a strategic Chief Administrator to lead the agency, advance its mission, and align people, programs, and resources to improve outcomes for students and educators.

The role builds partnerships with school boards and communities, ensures fiscal sustainability, and guides statewide collaboration in special education, service-for-fee programs, and organizational change. Strong leadership and licensure required.

Qualifications

• Master's or specialist degree in educational administration or related field.
• Iowa licensure, including Superintendent/AEA Administrator endorsement and evaluator approval.
• Demonstrated successful and progressive administrative leadership experience in PK–12 education, an AEA, or a closely related educational organization.
• Extensive knowledge in special education, including law, programming, service delivery, compliance, and evidence-based practices.
• Understanding of Iowa's educational system and the role of Area Education Agencies.
• Experience in organizational, fiscal, personnel, and change leadership.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Directors and advance the agency's mission, vision, core values, and goals.
• Build partnerships with school boards, superintendents, staff, and other stakeholders; develop a high-performing, accountable organization.
• Ensure fiscal and organizational sustainability; represent Grant Wood AEA locally and statewide; lead statewide collaboration in education.
