Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Richmond, VA seeks an EDI Developer to design, test, and maintain mapping solutions for partner data exchanges.

The role requires hands-on experience with EDI standards (ANSI X12/EDIFACT), SAP IDoc development, and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, in a collaborative manufacturing environment. You will work onsite with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, timely EDI transactions such as 850/855/856/810.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field.
1-2 years hands-on experience with EDI mapping and communication protocols.
1-2 years of experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
1-2 years of SAP IDoc development and integration experience.
1-2 years of XML development and data transformation.
Strong understanding of EDI standards (ANSI X12 and EDIFACT).
Hands-on EDI mapping experience in manufacturing or retail.
Experience with X12 850, 855, 856, 810 transactions.

Responsibilities

Partner closely with trading partners to understand EDI requirements and coordinate across stakeholders.
Analyze partner specifications and design EDI solutions using mapping tools, SAP integration, and custom development.
Support daily EDI transaction exchanges for timely data flow and operations.
Diagnose and resolve EDI production issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Create and maintain documentation and standard procedures for EDI workflows.
