Job summary

City of Bay City is seeking an Economic Development Project Manager in the Community Development Department to lead economic growth efforts and manage incentives and public improvements.

The role coordinates with city divisions, officials and external partners to implement development programs, maintains relationships with business leaders, and supports grant management and reporting. Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in economics, marketing, planning, public or business administration or related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible work experience in public or private business, real estate development, or economic development.
• Experience in municipal administration desirable.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Package, coordinate and document management of incentives from local, state and federal sources.
• Collaborate with the Community Development Director and other City divisions on programs and objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with business leaders, developers and government officials.
• Provide technical support and coordinate staff for related boards and organizations.
• Prepare resolutions, staff reports and presentations for the City Commission.
• Gathers information on programs and develops short/long-range development strategies.
• Liaise for grants including grant management and reporting.
• Assist Economic Development Program Manager as needed.
• Interact with developers and environmental consultants to implement projects.
• Provide professional services related to real estate negotiations and property research.
• Attend meetings and tours with prospects to discuss opportunities and incentives.
