The role focuses on site selector RFIs, BRE visits, and coordinating major programs with local government and regional partners. You will engage with utilities, developers, state agencies and community stakeholders to promote investment, site readiness and quality-of-place initiatives across Dearborn County,

Responsibilities

• Respond to site selector RFIs and manage communications with local employers and investors.
• Maintain and expand the county's Zoom Prospector site inventory for business recruitment.
• Conduct business retention and expansion (BRE) visits to support expansion opportunities.
• Support redevelopment commission activities and coordinate economic development projects.
• Assist with Stellar Pathways, READI, Opportunity Zone designation and workforce initiatives.
• Engage with government units, utilities, developers, regional partners and state agencies to advance growth.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Economic Development Manager supports One Dearborn's daily work to advance the Big 8 Economic Drivers identified in One Dearborn's 2024 Strategic Investment Plan: Housing, Parks & Trails, Downtown Redevelopment, Tourism & Culture, Economic Fundamentals, People & Services, US 50 & Transportation, and Infrastructure.

This position plays a key role in responding to site selector RFIs, maintaining and expanding the county's Zoom Prospector site inventory, conducting business retention and expansion (BRE) visits, managing recurring local employer and investor communications, supporting redevelopment commission activity,

coordinating economic development projects, and assisting with major initiatives such as Stellar Pathways, READI, Opportunity Zone designation, workforce development, and regional wage survey creation.

The role also includes regular interactions with local units of government, redevelopment commissions, employers, utilities, developers, regional partners, state agencies, and community stakeholders to advance business growth, investment, site readiness, and quality-of-place initiatives throughout Dearborn County.

The Economic Development Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.
