Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Division Controller to manage accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will lead the month‑end close, monitor budget vs. actuals, and translate financial results into actionable insights for the Division President and corporate finance team, while ensuring US GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Controlling and/or cost accounting experience preferred; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Expertise in GAAP reporting standards and requirements, corporate finance, internal controls, and finance systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Division President to improve financial and operational performance of the division.
• Serve as a key member of the division leadership team, providing financial guidance and operational leadership to the overall organization.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to improve financial reporting, analysis, and performance management of the division.
• Translate financial results into actionable insights that support strategic decision making.
• Lead/own the month end close process for the division.
• Maintain a monthly close checklist; ensure timely, accurate month end close and complete financial reporting; work closely with corporate finance and accounting on the month end close and consolidation process.
• Monitor performance against budget and prior year and provide clear explanations of key variances.
• Prepare and present the division financials and performance to the Division President and corporate accounting and finance team; identify significant variances, trends, and areas requiring management attention.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, working capital, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries and other accounting
