Job summary

State of Nebraska, Lincoln, is seeking a Highway District Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance programs and personnel for District 1. You will direct long-range planning, oversee safety and homeland security activities, coordinate with agencies, and manage budgets and procurements.

The role requires extensive highway maintenance experience, strong leadership, and the ability to liaise with state and federal officials, contractors, and the public.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in highway maintenance or construction and experience in managing highway maintenance or construction operations and employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and direct the annual and long-range maintenance program for the district, and optimize the allocation of resources.
• Inspect pavements, structures, and appurtenances to determine needs, and evaluate work performed.
• Plan and coordinate winter and emergency operations with other districts and agencies.
• Oversee district homeland security efforts and incident management to protect responders and travelers.
