Job summary

West Texas A&M University seeks a Director of Upward Bound Programs to lead the Upward Bound grant project, directing goals, activities, and evaluation. You will supervise staff, manage the program budget, coordinate college visits, and ensure compliance with federal regulations.

Based in Canyon, Texas, this staff position requires a Master's in Education or related field, plus experience with TRIO programs and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Master's in Education or related field.
• Three years of experience with federal TRIO programs or similar.
• Experience in staff supervision, budget management, program development and evaluation, and reporting and compliance with federal regulations.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, administrative, and management skills.
• Good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct the Upward Bound grant project's goals, objectives and activities.
• Coordinate college visits, leadership and cultural activities and the residential summer academy.
• Direct all aspects of the Upward Bound grant project.
• Evaluate all program activities and services.
• Secure facilities, resources and materials to meet project goals.
• Supervise, manage and train staff; oversee recruitment and training.
• Manage the grant project budget and related administrative duties.
• Collect data and submit annual performance reports and required documentation to the DOE.
• Work on special projects and maintain relationships with university departments.
• Maintain 100% compliance with required online training.
