Job summary

NACUA seeks a Director of Risk Management and Compliance to lead the college’s risk framework and compliance program. The role reports directly to the Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary and collaborates with senior leadership to develop policies, tools, and reporting to protect assets and integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
• Experience in higher education or similarly complex organization.
• Working knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and procedures.
• Effective written and public speaking skills with ability to interact with diverse audiences at all levels.
• Experience leading initiatives without direct supervisory authority and building consensus.
• Experience with internal investigations, including workplace and ethics complaints.
• Excellent relationship management and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support identification and prioritization of risks affecting the college to determine effective risk mitigation methodology.
• Recommend process improvements for timely risk management reporting.
• Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to determine risk tolerance and engagement.
• Establish and monitor risk identification, assessment, and reporting across the college.
• Develop and implement risk management policies, procedures, and controls.
• Lead risk management committee meetings and working groups for remediation plans.
• Integrate risk management policy into business activities and decision-making.
• Provide internal investigation support for civil rights-related processes.
