Job summary

Calm Waters seeks a Director of Development & Communications to lead fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, grant development, and communications initiatives.

This role drives annual giving, major gifts, grants, sponsorships, and donor events while supervising the Lead Communications & Events Coordinator to ensure cohesive branding and effective outreach to supporters and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor development, grant writing, or advancement.
• Minimum of two years of leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success securing grants, cultivating donor relationships, and achieving fundraising goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising development and donor engagement strategies.
• Provide strategic direction for communications, marketing, public relations, and fundraising events.
• Oversee the Lead Communications & Events Coordinator and ensure all materials align with goals.
• Develop annual goals, work plans and performance expectations for the team.
• Cultivate relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and community partners.
• Manage grant applications and identify new opportunities; prepare United Way funding materials.
