Job summary

St. Louis Aquarium Foundation is seeking a Development Manager to lead fundraising efforts in partnership with the Executive Director.

You will design and execute the annual development plan, cultivate donors, and manage fundraising events and communications to drive support and impact. In this role you will coordinate donor appeals, reports, and stewardship activities, collaborating with staff and volunteers to expand giving and secure funding for conservation education and water stewardship

Qualifications

• Direct experience as a frontline fundraiser securing major gifts.
• Strong verbal communication and clear, persuasive writing.
• Ability to prospect, cultivate and manage new funding sources.
• High energy, can-do attitude with initiative.
• Willing to work some weekends and evenings.
• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate annual development plan and strategy.
• Manage donor communications and fundraising events, including annual gala.
• Cultivate and steward donors through visits and acknowledgments.
• Collaborate with Executive Director on donor reports and communications.
• Assist with grant writing and reporting deadlines.
• Maintain development database with Development Coordinator.
• Prepare appeals and donor communications via email and social media.
