Job summary

The Hadar Institute in Chicago seeks a National Program and Chicago Engagement Director to champion Hadar's national and virtual programs, oversee execution, and manage Hadar's Chicago involvement. You will partner with Hadar’s faculty to shape strategy, calendars, and participant experiences for key audiences across North America.

This Chicago-based leader will build local partnerships, recruit community groups, coordinate with Engagement and Program teams, and represent Hadar at events.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of and enthusiasm for Hadar's mission.
• Proven record of success in engagement or program work, professionally or through lay leadership.
• Self-starter able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
• Relationship builder with collaborative spirit.
• Strong implementer managing multiple initiatives with creative problem solving.
• High energy with strategic and tactical thinking.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to learn and utilize systems including Salesforce and Google Drive.
• Hebrew reading is required; proficiency in Hebrew is a plus.
• Knowledge of Chicago Jewish communal landscape preferred.
• Public speaking and facilitation experience are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Visioning and management of national programming including virtual Beit Midrash, regional support, and Shabbatonim.
• Strategic program design for Hadar audiences (Teens, College Students, Rabbis, Jewish professionals).
• Collaborate with Rashei Yeshiva and faculty to design and execute programs, calendars, and participant experiences.
• Develop rubric and evaluation processes for national programs.
• Build and maintain National program budgets and lead National Program Team.
• Oversee operational needs for National programs and engagement in Chicago.
• Build local partnerships with Jewish organizations and individuals.
• Plan and execute local programs to raise Hadar visibility.
• Recruit and support Hadar Community Groups in Chicago.
