Job summary

Jewish United Fund (JUF) is seeking an Assistant Director for Leadership Development and Engagement to advance leadership pipelines, manage development programs, and strengthen donor engagement in the Chicago area.

You will work with the Associate VP of Leadership Development & Engagement to connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities, develop future leaders, and support collaborations across Campaign and Governance functions. Hybrid schedule and generous benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in event planning, program management, and/or fundraising.
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders of all ages.
• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, and political savvy with stakeholders.
• Travel locally to meet with agency and volunteer leadership.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support leadership development programs and cohorts (e.g., JFNA National Young Leadership Cabinet, JUF’s awards, and other initiatives).
• Provide logistical, operational, and relationship-management support for Jewish Leaders Institute (JLI) and related activities.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs are impactful and aligned with goals.
• Support participation in the JFNA General Assembly, including logistics and participant experience.
• Develop and maintain leadership pipeline tracking and succession planning systems.
• Cultivate and steward prospective volunteer leaders and alumni engagement.
• Design and implement leadership training opportunities for volunteers.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with donors and colleagues across departments.
