Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a DSS Manager III to lead the Support Services Departments at the State Hospital. You will supervise plant maintenance, grounds, motor pool, food services, housekeeping and laundry, ensuring staffing, training, and performance aligned with policy and regulatory standards.

You will oversee budgets, safety programs, and coordination with state-offices for contracts and capital projects, while acting as liaison with stakeholders and leading

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, public administration, or related field.
• Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in management of maintenance, housekeeping, food service, risk management, or related support operation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop staff across support services: maintenance, food service, housekeeping and laundry.
• Oversee budget development and tracking for department projects and operations.
• Ensure compliance with agency standards, Joint Commission, CMS and TAC regulations.
• Coordinate contracts and procurement; liaison with state-office and stakeholders.
• Act as interim Assistant Superintendent when needed and participate in on-call rotation.
