Job summary

Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is hiring a Director, Vehicle Maintenance to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the bus fleet maintenance functions. You will guide performance management, establish SOPs, KPIs, and predictive maintenance strategies to ensure reliability and service readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field and 10 years in fleet or transit maintenance.
• 7+ years managing a large maintenance department; union environment preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of vehicle maintenance operations and ensure fleet availability.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve safety and reliability.
• Oversee analyses to strengthen vehicle design and parts longevity.
• Lead maintenance strategy and training program; drive continuous improvement.
• Direct budget activities for the maintenance department.
• Maintain labor relations in alignment with collective bargaining agreements.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to advance strategic vision for maintenance.
• Work cross-functionally to address operational issues.
