Job summary

Johnston County Department of Social Services in Smithfield seeks an experienced Economic Services Division Director to lead programs including Food & Nutrition Services, Energy Assistance, Work First, and related services.

You will supervise Program Managers, develop annual goals, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and county regulations while guiding staff to deliver positive outcomes for county residents.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management experience in public services.
• Experience developing goals and priorities for teams on an annual basis.
• Strong knowledge of Economic Services programs and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to Program Managers and staff within the Economic Services Division.
• Meet with staff to develop goals and priorities for the teams annually.
• Prepare needs analysis and justification for staffing and equipment requirements.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and county regulations and positive outcomes for customers.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff performance; participate in budget preparation.
