Job summary

Harvard University’s Office for External Education seeks a Director of Custom and Partner Programs to lead strategy, design, and growth of HMS custom programs worldwide. You will align academic expertise with market needs, manage a multi-team portfolio, and drive revenue and impact.

Responsibilities include portfolio strategy, client engagement, faculty contracts, and financial planning, with a focus on scalable online and in-person offerings and strong governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Experience in executive/professional education or related fields.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead long-term strategy for custom and partner programs.
• Direct portfolio design, pedagogy, delivery strategy, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Business Development, faculty, and Program Delivery for high-quality learning experiences.
• Lead program refinement using feedback, outcomes, and market insights.
• Provide strategic consultation on digital products like HMX and HealthXcelerate.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the team with a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Represent the unit in external leadership forums and manage key client relationships.
