Job summary

Hanover County Department of Social Services is seeking a results-driven Division Director of Benefit Programs to lead program operations, develop staff, ensure program integrity, and implement innovative solutions that improve access to essential benefits.

You will supervise managers and staff, oversee SNAP, TANF, Medicaid, and other programs, ensure compliance, collaborate with partners, and report on expenditures and outcomes while aligning with county objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's in public administration preferred.
• Experience leading eligibility or social services programs is required.
• Ability to supervise multiple supervisors and manage complex operations.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and directs staff/programs within the Benefit Programs division.
• Interprets federal, state, and local policies and ensures compliance.
• Monitors program performance, budgets, and audits; leads special projects.
