Job summary

Greater Gallatin United Way in Bozeman, MT is seeking a Director of Development to lead a comprehensive fundraising strategy and grow philanthropic investment across Gallatin, Madison, Meagher, and Park counties.

You will build major donor relationships, develop multi-channel fundraising strategies, and collaborate with the CEO and Board to advance community initiatives that strengthen families and nonprofits. This is a full-time, in-person leadership role with a focus on growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Five or more years of progressive fundraising, development, nonprofit leadership, or related field.
• Proven success building relationships and generating philanthropic or business investment.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Experience with boards, volunteers, donors, clients, or community leaders.
• Experience using CRM systems and data to guide strategy.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with major donors and prospective supporters.
• Develop strategies to grow individual, corporate, foundation, workplace, and legacy giving.
• Create donor experiences that strengthen retention and engagement.
• Lead annual fundraising planning with measurable revenue and engagement goals.
• Identify new philanthropic opportunities and partnerships in the region.
• Develop planned giving and legacy giving opportunities.
• Provide strategic leadership for fundraising events, sponsorships, and donor activities.
• Partner with CEO and Board to cultivate donors and expand community relations.
• Use donor data and metrics to guide strategy and identify opportunities.
• Supervise and mentor development staff to nurture a culture of philanthropy.
