Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Deputy Procurement/Contracts Manager in Paducah, KY to lead the procurement and subcontracting program in full compliance with FAR, DEAR and DOE requirements. This working supervisor will award subcontracts and POs while guiding procurement personnel to ensure auditable actions and risk-managed outcomes.

The role interfaces with the DOE Contracting Officer, internal finance, legal and project teams, and participates in conferences with small businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Contracts or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of federal procurement/subcontracting experience.
• Experience with FAR/DEAR in a DOE or federal contractor environment.
• Experience supporting an approved purchasing system.
• Knowledge of contract types, source selection, and cost/price analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support management of procurement lifecycle activities including acquisition planning, solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with FAR, DEAR, DOE directives, and internal procurement procedures.
• Review and approve procurement documentation, including price reasonableness determinations, sole source justifications, and source selection records.
• Assist in acquisition strategy development, including contract type selection and evaluation methodologies.
• Oversee subcontract administration activities, including modifications, funding actions, and closeout.
• Ensure proper flow-down of required FAR/DEAR clauses.
• Support audit readiness and compliance with DOE procurement system reviews (e.g., PERT/CPSR).
• Serve as an interface with DOE Contracting Officer (CO), internal project teams, and functional organizations, and will attend and present at periodic ETEBA or other small business conferences.
• Provide leadership, training, and guidance to procurement staff, support workload management and performance oversight.
• Act on behalf of the Procurement / Contracts Manager, as delegated.
