Job summary

SEIU in Washington, DC seeks a Deputy Director, Integrated Organizing Communications to lead strategic communications and digital management for national campaigns. You will direct a team of skilled practitioners and partner with Organizing Hub and the Worker Power team.

The role requires seven to eight years of related experience, deep knowledge of unions and advocacy, and a track record in campaigns and leadership.

Qualifications

• Seven to eight years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of unions and advocacy organizations preferred.
• Priority given to candidates with real-world communications and organizing experience.

Responsibilities

• Campaign Strategy: Lead the development and execution of vibrant and cohesive worker-centered communications and digital strategy, building capacity across priority campaigns.
• Lead a Strong Team: Manage Organizing staff and supervise consultants as needed.
• Collaborate to Build Campaigns: Create and share communications strategy, messaging, and materials with Organizing Hub staff.
• Responsible for planning, budgeting, and project management across divisions and campaign leaders.
• Develop staff through training, feedback, reviews, and career development.
• Travel frequently and manage multiple priorities with long hours.
