Job summary

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) seeks an Assistant Director of Communications for Organizing to lead public-facing national and regional communications around union campaigns. This role collaborates with Movement Building teams and SEIU locals to win economic and racial justice through strategic messaging, materials, and media outreach.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of related work experience or combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of unions and other advocacy organizations preferred. Priority given to candidates with real-world communications and organizing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of communications across SEIU’s organizing priorities for national campaigns.
• Build a team of campaign communicators to execute priority campaigns.
• Write strategic communications plans, talking points, and campaign materials including op-eds, fact sheets, and press kits.
• Coordinate with digital strategy, design, and other teams to produce multimedia materials.
• Supervise campaign communications managers and staff, as required.
