Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced SRE for the Strategic Defense team to provision hardware, automate bare-metal to production, and enable secure, disconnected operations across edge environments.

You will collaborate with software and operations engineers to deploy on real infrastructure, troubleshoot from kernel to Kubernetes, and travel to customer sites as needed while maintaining a TS clearance. The role demands pragmatic, mission-focused engineering with strong judgment.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Top Secret clearance.
• 3-8+ years of hands-on infrastructure, systems or site reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of Linux processes, system calls, memory, filesystems and inodes, systemd, and permissions/SELinux; ability to diagnose from shell.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, routing, VLANs and firewalls; trace a request hop by hop.
• Understanding of Kubernetes below the managed layer; familiarity with Services, kube-proxy, CNI, DNS, scheduling, requests/limits; use kubectl.
• Proficiency writing Python and Bash from scratch (parsing logs, handling files/processes, retries).

Responsibilities

• Provision bare metal at scale; manage PXE boot, kickstart, BMC/iDRAC, firmware and STIG hardening.
• Operate self-managed Kubernetes clusters on-prem and at the edge.
• Design for disconnected environments with limited bandwidth and update windows.
• Ship software across air-gapped and classified networks using cross-domain solutions.
• Trace failures across Linux, network and Kubernetes; lead root-cause analysis.
• Develop Python and Bash tooling; manage infrastructure as code.
• Deploy with customers and travel to sites to install and support systems.
