Job summary

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, seeks an SRE in Strategic Defense to rack and provision hardware, build automation turning a blank server into a hardened node, and design how software reaches systems that are only sometimes connected.

You will work with software, data and operations engineers to deploy on real infrastructure, with a Whatever It Takes mindset, balancing speed and reliability to mission success.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
• 3–8+ years of hands-on infrastructure, systems or site reliability engineering.
• Knowledge of Linux process states, system calls, memory, and permissions/SELinux.
• Proficiency in networking: TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, routing, firewalls.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes at the internals level and kubectl usage.
• Ability to write Python and Bash scripts from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Provision bare metal at scale and automate server provisioning.
• Operate self-managed Kubernetes clusters on-prem and at the edge.
• Design for disconnected environments with limited bandwidth.
• Ship and update systems in air-gapped and classified networks.
• Debug across Linux, network, and Kubernetes layers; lead root-cause analysis.
• Develop tooling in Python and Bash; manage infrastructure as code.
• Travel to customer sites to install and support systems.
