Job summary

CVS Health, through Signify Health Strategy & Innovation, seeks a Principal Decision Scientist to lead causal inference studies and quantitative sizing for growth opportunities. You will collaborate with data professionals and executive leadership to standardize processes, build evidence, and influence strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes rigorous analytics, healthcare data expertise, and the ability to translate complex questions into actionable insights for the ELT.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Decision Science, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, or related field.
• Expert SQL and Python skills with large datasets.
• Strong statistics and analytics expertise including hypothesis testing and predictive modeling.
• Demonstrated experience with causal inference and impact measurement.
• Healthcare/payer data expertise with claims/enrollment/ utilization datasets.
• Strong business and executive communication skills.
• Experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Data engineering knowledge including ETL/ELT and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience establishing analytics best practices and reusable assets.
• Executive presence and ability to communicate to senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Extract insights from data to investigate complex business problems via data prep, modeling, analysis, and visualization.
• Design, build, and maintain causal inference studies to quantify member outcomes from in-home health evaluation.
• Build proofs of concepts to identify rich member insights using health plan data and Signify insights.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches with strategy and business leaders.
• Conduct sizings of new products and partnerships using internal operational and clinical data.
• Champion analytics best practices: version control, pipelines, data sources, and documentation across Signify.
• Mentor analytics talent across the organization and act as a technical thought partner.
• Present analyses to Signify's ELT and executives, building credibility and influence.
