Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Data Governance Enablement Leader to drive strategy for governing enterprise data across DA&AI. You’ll translate governance assessment into a sequenced roadmap, define ownership, quality, metadata, and lifecycle standards, and partner with Data Platform, Engineering, and Architecture to realize the model.

You will build a governance culture, recruit data owners and stewards, and push capabilities such as AI-enabled data quality and Purview tooling, while reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information management, computer science, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data governance, data management, or data risk.
• 3+ years leading governance in enterprise-scale environment.
• Experience standing up federated governance models and engaging business data owners outside the reporting line.
• Familiarity with audits of data controls and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Governance strategy: carry assessment and roadmap and own program direction.
• Operating model and standards: define ownership, stewardship, and lifecycle standards.
• Execution partnership: translate standards into implementation with platform teams.
• Governance culture: train and advocate governance across the organization.
• Business influence and change management: recruit data owners and drive adoption.
• Tooling and innovation: guide tooling decisions including Microsoft Purview and AI capabilities.
• Measurement and reporting: define metrics and report to executives.
• AI governance alignment: coordinate with security, legal, compliance.
• People leadership: build and develop governance team and mentors.
