Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Data Governance Enablement Leader to define the enterprise governance model, ownership, and quality standards. You will work with data platforms, engineering, and architecture to translate policy into practice while driving adoption across the business.

The role emphasizes governance culture, change management, and the use of advanced tooling like Microsoft Purview to elevate data quality and steward responsibilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in information management, computer science, business, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in data management, governance, or data risk.
• Experience leading a governance function at enterprise scale (3+ years).
• Proven ability to recruit and enable business data owners outside the reporting line.

Responsibilities

• Governance strategy: develop sequenced roadmap and accountable program direction.
• Define operating model and standards for ownership, quality, and lifecycle.
• Partner with Data Platform, Engineering, and Architecture to translate standards into implementation.
• Build governance culture through training and reusable artifacts.
• Drive change management and business buy-in across the organization.
• Guide tooling decisions, including Microsoft Purview, and enhance AI-driven governance.
