Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Site Selection Manager to lead identifying and securing strategic real estate for large-scale data center developments across the US. You will evaluate land, power, permitting, and develop commercial and development agreements.

You will manage due diligence, coordinate advisors, negotiate land acquisitions, leases, and work with engineering, finance, and development teams. Travel to sites will be required as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center real estate, site acquisition, industrial development or another comparable large-scale infrastructure environment.
• Closed complex real estate or development transactions.
• Experience evaluating land for major infrastructure projects.
• A strong understanding of power and its impact on site viability.
• Experience navigating permitting and development processes.
• The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external advisors.
• Experience with hyperscale data centers, large-load power requirements, utility relationships, behind-the-meter generation or multi-market site portfolios would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing potential data center sites across key US markets.
• Evaluating power availability, site constraints, permitting, environmental considerations and overall development potential.
• Managing real estate due diligence and coordinating specialist technical advisors.
• Negotiating land acquisitions, leases and development agreements.
• Developing relationships with landowners, brokers, developers and other market participants.
• Working closely with engineering and design teams to ensure potential sites meet project requirements.
• Supporting portfolio strategy, market analysis and future capacity planning.
• Partnering with finance and development teams on project economics and investment decisions.
• Travelling to sites and meeting with key stakeholders as projects progress.
