Job summary

Metric DCX is seeking a Site Selection Manager to own the real estate pipeline for a rapidly expanding US data center program. You will identify and secure strategic sites, evaluate power availability, permitting, and development potential, and coordinate with landowners, brokers, and engineers to meet project requirements.

Travel to sites will be required; you will partner with finance and development teams on project economics, manage due diligence with external advisors, and drive market

Site Selection Manager | Data Center Development

Metric DCX is partnered with a leading, high-growth AI infrastructure business that is expanding its US development platform. As part of this growth, they are looking to appoint a Site Selection Manager to support the development of a rapidly expanding portfolio of large-scale data center projects.

About the Opportunity

You’ll take ownership of identifying and securing strategic real estate for major data center developments, working across land, power, permitting, technical requirements and commercial negotiations.

The role will involve:

• Identifying and assessing potential data center sites across key US markets
• Evaluating power availability, site constraints, permitting, environmental considerations and overall development potential
• Managing real estate due diligence and coordinating specialist technical advisors
• Negotiating land acquisitions, leases and development agreements
• Developing relationships with landowners, brokers, developers and other market participants
• Working closely with engineering and design teams to ensure potential sites meet project requirements
• Supporting portfolio strategy, market analysis and future capacity planning
• Partnering with finance and development teams on project economics and investment decisions
• Travelling to sites and meeting with key stakeholders as projects progress

Background

The ideal candidate will bring experience in data center real estate, site acquisition, industrial development or another comparable large-scale infrastructure environment.

We're particularly interested in people who have:

• Closed complex real estate or development transactions
• Experience evaluating land for major infrastructure projects
• A strong understanding of power and its impact on site viability
• Experience navigating permitting and development processesThe ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external advisors
• A highly proactive, hands-on approach to site development

Experience with hyperscale data centers, large-load power requirements, utility relationships, behind-the-meter generation or multi-market site portfolios would be advantageous.
