Job summary

State Street is seeking a Data & AI Governance Leader (MD level) to define and maintain enterprise governance policies, standards, and an operating model across data and AI. The role partners with lines of business to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and drives durable remediation and oversight.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years in governance, experience with regulators, and advanced degrees.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, AI Governance, Technology Risk, or related disciplines.
• Significant experience in highly regulated financial services.
• Direct experience with regulators and supervisory bodies (e.g., FRB, OCC, FCA).
• Deep understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Risk, Metadata, and AI Governance.
• Experience supporting regulatory examinations and risk initiatives.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Define/maintain enterprise Data, AI policies, standards, and governance operating model.
• Lead regulatory leadership and proactive engagement with regulators and audits.
• Partner with lines of business to define governance target state and actionable models.
• Own data quality standards, incident management, remediation tracking.
• Translate governance principles into domain-specific governance roadmaps.
• Provide governance leadership into Data & AI roadmaps without delivery ownership.
