Job summary

Minnehaha County is seeking a Commission Administrative Officer to directly support the Board of County Commissioners in administering county government.

The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader with a strong background in public administration, seven years' experience, and knowledge of budgeting, procurement, and policy communication. A Bachelor's in public or business administration is required; MBA/JD preferred, with strong MS Office skills and professional presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in public or business administration required; MBA or JD preferred.
• Seven years of increasingly responsible public administration experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the Board of County Commissioners in administering county government.
• Administer, plan, and direct complex administrative functions and budget processes.
• Oversee procurement, contracts, and compliance with state laws and regulations.
• Train and supervise staff and communicate policy to lawmakers and agencies.
